Greetings, beloved community
My name is Nicole W. Sharpe, and I am honored to welcome you to Mahaba House, a sanctuary born from a profound vision of healing, transformation, and purpose. As a daughter of African and Caribbean ancestry, my life has been shaped by the indomitable spirit of my ancestors—resilient, nurturing, and deeply creative. This space reflects their legacy, the wisdom of their rituals, and the calling to empower the healers, leaders, and visionaries who dedicate themselves to uplifting our communities.
For over two decades, I have walked the path of leadership, guiding nonprofit organizations and mobilizing resources to serve Black and Brown communities. From raising millions to advance education and philanthropy to founding Caribbean Giving, Inc., my work has always centered on creating transformative change. But transformation begins within. Through radical rituals of healing and initiation—guided by healing practitioners like Malidoma Patrice Somé and Tony Moss—I have experienced firsthand the profound power of reconnecting with spirit, self, and purpose. These experiences, coupled with my journey as a certified life coach, inspired me to establish Mahaba House as a sanctuary for those who, like me, seek renewal and alignment.
At Mahaba House, we believe that wellness is not a luxury—it is a birthright. Here, community leaders are invited to lay down their burdens, step away from the demands of service, and focus on their own healing. Whether you come to realign your leadership with your life’s calling, envision new possibilities, or simply rest and restore, this is your space. Through the love and wisdom of the Mahaba family, you will find support, guidance, and sacred rituals that honor your unique journey.
This is more than a retreat; it is a radical act of self-love and reclamation. Together, we will nurture your spirit, reignite your vision, and build a bridge between your inner truth and your outer work. At Mahaba House, we honor the divine within you and stand ready to walk beside you as you step into the next iteration of your leadership. Welcome home.
With love, strength, and gratitude,
Nicole W. Sharpe

Welcome to Mahaba House—a sacred sanctuary rooted in love and committed to the healing and restoration of Black and Brown leaders and professionals in community service industries. My name is Kamau Ptah, and it is my honor to welcome you into this space, a manifestation of my life’s work as a family man, transformational leader, rites of passage practitioner, educational consultant, author, drummer, and African Indigenous Spiritual Technician. For over three decades, I have devoted myself to curating spaces that nurture the soul, restore identity, and build resilient communities. It is from this foundation that Mahaba House was born—a place where love leads, healing flows, and transformation begins.
My journey has been shaped by a profound calling to serve as a vessel for healing and transformation. As a husband, father, nationally renowned educational consultant, and co-founder of educational institutions and organizations, I have witnessed firsthand the power of creating intentional spaces where individuals can connect to their highest selves. Through my work as an author, consultant, and coach, I have guided countless individuals and organizations in embracing the principles and practices of rites of passage, cultural relevance, and healing-centered engagement. At Mahaba House, we incorporate African and Indigenous-inspired practices, such as elemental immersion rituals, and African and Indigenous healing drum technologies, to facilitate deep personal and collective transformation. These rituals are not just techniques—they are pathways to reclaiming our ancestral wisdom and grounding ourselves in love and purpose.
Mahaba House is a sanctuary designed to honor those who devote their lives to uplifting communities, often at great personal cost. Professionals in education, social services, and community work frequently bear the weight of immense stress, which can erode their well-being. Recognizing this, we have created a space that addresses these challenges through restorative modalities, professional learning, radical rituals, and comprehensive coaching.
As the visionary behind Akoben Enterprise and a lifelong student of indigenous wisdom, I bring to Mahaba House a unique blend of traditional and contemporary modalities. Whether through rites of passage experiences for youth and adults, or through helping learning communities build healthy school climates and cultures, my work centers on the knowledge that love and intentionality can transform lives. Mahaba, meaning “love” in Swahili, is more than a name; it is a guiding principle that informs everything we do. Here, we invite you to step into a space of radical healing, self-actualization, and community-building, where you are supported in becoming the highest expression of your divine purpose. Welcome to Mahaba House—welcome to love, healing, and transformation.
